Michael Garciaparra, the younger brother of Nomar, was signed to a contract with the Seattle Mariners in the draft of June 2001.  Now Michael is in the Mariner's organization, working on becoming a stronger and overall better shortstop.  "My ultimate goal is to be a big leaguer. I'll get there when I get there.''  And how does big bro Nomar feel about Michael playing baseball professionally?  "I'm excited for him, but I still told him I'll take him out if he's in the way on a double play.''
